Hi, everyone! We’re TeamViolince. This is our first game jam and our first team project as well. We have some big plans for “Violince”. This is a demo version. We are set to continue our journey and release this project on Steam. Make sure to follow us on twitter @TeamViolince.
“Violince” is a retro-style 3D horror adventure. A “Haunting Melody” is a recurring theme in our narrative.
Our main character Eve is an average schoolgirl. All that she wishes for is to be as talented as Laurence, the Academy's sweet leading violinist. One day she learns about an odd melody with the power to grant wishes.

Love the name, love the story being driven by a desire to be talented and popular, but there is a slight jankiness to the game, likely due to time restraints of it being a game jam demo. Looking forward to seeing how it's polished.

The game's fairly interesting and the character's motivation is relatable to everyone in one sense or another. I did run into a minor bug where you can talk to the 2nd floor girl on the first floor. Other then that, not a bad game. I'll keep an eye out on it.

This was an interesting third-person view horror game about the main character's desire to be better than everyone else through engaging in a deal with the Devil (What I think is happening.). I liked the retro graphics of the game and the interior design of the school but as I was exploring the school, it felt a little repetitive, having to travel from one end of the school to the other just to collect items without anything stopping me. Maybe it would be good to add puzzles in the game or obstacles or challenges that makes the entire experience more interactive for the player.However, I really liked the idea of incorporating music and musical instruments into a horror game as it is able to help in enhancing the emotions and feelings of character in the game, as well as the mood and atmosphere of the game. The end of the demo was quite shocking for me as I did not expect the game to feature them since I assumed that the game was largely focused on the music element and the main character's trauma and emotions (Storytelling and Sound Effects). Thus, I am quite curious to see where the game will go from the demo.
